SSA Hearing Options Available During COVID-19

Spanish Version

In March 2020, we closed Social Security hearing offices to the public for in-person service due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This closure protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We are continuing to hold hearings during the pandemic by telephone and online video. Telephone hearings and online video hearings continue to provide flexible, safe and secure hearing options during this difficult time.

In late 2021, we will be scheduling hearings in our hearing offices on a limited basis for our priority cases.  In-person service in our hearing offices will be very limited until further notice.  We continue to strongly encourage you to consider participating in a telephone hearing or an online video hearing as a secure and reliable hearing option.
